12 Months of Monastery Soups is my new go to cookbook. And I do love me some soup. Luckily, E is tolerant of my obsession. The recipe are simple, healthy and filling. If there is a meat, it’s kept to a minimum (and there are often hints as to how to eliminate it), as befits a monastery lifestyle.
Most recent recipe tried:
Spinach soup from October which included spinach, onions, mushrooms, milk & hardboiled egg, along with broth & seasoning.
I do have admit to NOT being temped by Gumbo Potage a la Creole. It includes string beans and brown sugar besides the okra. Hmph.
