Arty Tuesday: George Bellows & Edith Cavell

Last month, I saw the Bellows exhibit at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.

I love his landscapes and was really struck with some of his historical paintings/etchings.  The one that really resonated with me was a lithograph that was exhibited  showing WWI nurse Edith Cavell descending a staircase to face her fire squad.  If you don’t know who Edith Cavell was, read up on her; she was an inspirational, brave, no-nonsense woman who faced her death bravely.
