Arty Tuesday: New Orleans Botanical Garden – 2 by Alferez

Today it’s 2 works by Enrique Alferez, who y’all know I love.

When you’re wandering in the gardens alone and you see this sculpture laying under an oak tree in the distance, you immediately feel voyeuristic, as if you are spying on lovers; the placement is perfect.

I also wanted to include a couple of photos of this sundial by Alferez; I love that it’s a bit more austere and, of course, practical.

I was lucky enough to spend some time in the Botanical Gardens at City Park on Earth Day when the gardens are usually closed. I snapped a bunch of photos of the statues for my May theme.
